Dr. Arman Fathi

Dr. Arman Fathi is a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu black belt and a board-certified Doctor of Chiropractic in the State of California. His jiu-jitsu journey has taken him around the world and put him on the mats with a veritable who’s who of jiu-jitsu, training extensively with several world champions, mixed martial arts professionals, and members of the famous Gracie family. He became intrigued with the art after watching a Gracie Breakdown on YouTube and began training in 2012 under the Redzovic family in Chicago, his native city, initially to lose weight but falling in love once he saw the lifestyle applications, community, and humility that comes with spending a life on the mats. His goal as a white belt was to have his own Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Certified Training Center one day, and almost a decade later it has become a reality. He aims to deliver to students the same feeling of community and life improvement that the art brought for him. In 2018, Arman moved to California as a brown belt and began training full-time at Gracie University HQ and 10th Planet HQ. He returned to Chicago in 2020 to receive his black belt at the hands of the Redzovic family, his original instructors, with the blessing of his California professors Rener Gracie and Eddie Bravo. He completed the Gracie Instructor Certification Program in 2020 as well. In addition Arman is a staff contributor for the Jiu-Jitsu Times, the premier jiu-jitsu news outlet on the internet, an opportunity that has afforded him rare and unique experiences to expand his knowledge of the art. His wide array of experiences in the jiu-jitsu world as well as his anatomical understanding of the human body obtained from his chiropractic education enables him to give a uniquely focused and compassionate approach to all students he shares his time with on the mats.

Dr. Arman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University-Chicago and a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Rush University, in addition to his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences. In his spare time he enjoys playing piano, watching NBA basketball, going to comedy shows, and spending time with his dogs. His passion for the art empowers him to choose to work only part time as a chiropractor so he can focus on spending several hours on the mat each and every day. He looks forward to the opportunity to impact others lives through jiu-jitsu as it has done for him.
